The General Data Protection Regulations ('GDPR') are to be introduced on 25 May 2018 and affect any organisation or person that stores personal data. Doctors working for the NHS will be covered by procedures put in place by the NHS. However, Doctors undertaking either i) Medico-Legal work, ii) Clinical Trials and Research or iii) Consultations for private patients are likely to store personal data for the claimants or patients concerned.
