DEVELOPING YOUR MEDICO-LEGAL PRACTICE

Next Step...

Once you have attended one of our Medico-Legal Courses, you may wonder what the next step is, in how to promote your Medico-Legal Practice.

We suggest that doctors wanting to develop their presence in this field should:

  1. Have a Medico-Legal CV on the SpecialistInfo Directory (which is free of charge).

This website is accessed by relevant companies such as Medico-Legal Agencies, Solicitors and Insurance Companies looking directly for doctors to undertake Medico-Legal Work. You will be contacted by such companies if you have the relevant skills, experience and location needed for a particular case.

Please see below for a template of a CV Proforma. You may choose to download this and fill it in and email it to our Medico-Legal Editor, Lisa Cheyne (lisa@specialistinfo.com), who will upload it onto the website. Alternatively, you can send your own Medico-Legal CV to Lisa Cheyne. Your CV will then be added to your entry on our website and will only be seen by relevant companies.

(Once this link is clicked, the CV Proforma Template Document should appear as a word document in a pop up screen. Users should be able to print and save this document.)

If you are a Consultant who has registered to use SpecialistInfo.com and have already provided your Medico-Legal CV, you can update it online by logging in and viewing your own entry.

  1. Register with Medico-Legal Agencies

It is normally advisable for doctors to register with as many agencies as needed in order to get the required amount of work. Generally, to join an agency's panel of experts a CV, will be required and you will need to complete an online registration form. Once they have received this, they will contact you to check your availability and other details.
