The idea of Specialist Info, an Internet directory of over 30,000 Medical Consultants in the UK and now over 2,200 in the Republic of Ireland, was conceived in 1998 by Dr Michael Scatchard, a GP in Harrogate and Ruth Whiteside, a database publishing executive with 25 years experience. With the emergence of e-health in this Internet age, Mike and Ruth together with her husband, Hugh, appreciated the need for an excellent website directory providing details of Medical Consultants' special interests, locations and contact details.

From this initial concept www.specialistinfo.com has grown to become a fantastic information resource, attracting over 20 million website hits per year.

HKL's objective is to become the definitive directory of this type, giving extensive data on all Consultants and GPs wishing to provide information about themselves.
