COURSE INTRODUCTION
This Standard Medico-Legal course will provide key skills, knowledge and technical information to allow participants safely to prepare and submit Medico-Legal reports in personal injury cases. This course is suitable for Doctors who are looking to improve or refresh their current Medico-Legal knowledge or for those who are interested in getting started in the Medico-Legal industry.
It is important to note that this course is not intended to cover Clinical Negligence matters; there is a separate course on that subject but the personal injury course does offer some guidance and will, naturally, deal with the common areas under the Rules.
The course covers a comprehensive range of relevant topics for Doctors undertaking Medico-Legal work, including:
- How to write quality Medico-Legal reports (with the opportunity to review sample reports with the lawyers themselves that many of our previous delegates have found extremely useful)
- Duties of the Expert
- The roles of the various "players" (client, claims management company, claimant solicitor, insurer, defendant solicitor, barrister, judge, other witnesses)
- Questioning techniques
- Court room skills
- Rules for giving evidence
- Mistakes to avoid
You will receive a Course Pack including a FREE CD containing a number of useful documents and course materials.
Morning coffee and lunch are included within the price.
