  • 10.15 - 10.45 The duties and responsibilities of an expert in a clinical negligence medico-legal setting
  • 10.45 - 11.30 Duty of care owed by medical professionals and in particular consideration of Bolam, Bolitho and Montgomery

11.30 - 11.45 Coffee

10.15 MORNING SESSION 2
  • 11.45 - 12.30 Fundamental and basic report writing rules and requirements
  • 12.30 - 13.15 Setting out a report in practice. Covering breach of duty, causation and condition and prognosis reports in a clinical negligence setting

13.15 - 13.45 Light Lunch

13.45 AFTERNOON SESSION 1
  • 13.45 - 14.15 What constitutes a good/bad report
  • 14.15 - 14.45 CPR Part 35 duties to be considered in addition to expert reports - questions to experts and joint statements following expert meetings.

14.45 - 15.00 Tea

15.00 AFTERNOON SESSION 2
  • 15.00 - 15.30 Practical problems in report writing
  • 15.30 - 16.00 Giving evidence in court: what to expect when giving evidence, procedure and how to address the court
  • 16.00 - 16.15 Questions on matters covered and additional discussiont
